Supported Employment
PARC Services Supported Employment
Program is based on the philosophy that persons with
moderate and severe handicaps can be employed and fully
integrated in the community with proper training, follow-up
services and support. PARC Services Supported Employment Program
involves highly structured job placement, individualized training
and job retention through long-term follow-up services, and
support. The program is characterized by individualized,
intensive job site training in integrated community based
employment settings.
Through Supported Employment, individuals with
mental disabilities gain competitive jobs in the community with
non-disabled workers. Each worker is encouraged to reach his
or her fullest potential within the employment community. All
services provided by the program to clients foster and encourage
growth and maintenance of behaviors and life styles that are
culturally valued in the community. Supported
Employment workers are employed in a variety of positions in
a variety of businesses in the tri-cities
area.
